This year, we decided that our SPGC Annual Summer Potluck should be an outdoor picnic so members
could truly enjoy our beautiful park and it was terrific. Other groups hold their events under
the towering oak trees so we got to see why they come back year after year.
We held a very short business meeting to review and answer any questions about the revisions in the
Constitution and Bylaws. They were approved unanimously. The other item on the agenda was the
SPGC FY21-22 budget. Members had questions answered and it was also adopted unanimously.
We set up our tables (with flowers) and fired up the grill outside the clubhouse --and the sun
came out just as we all sat down for lunch. Vina brought baked sockeye salmon with a delicious
sauce and two amazing homemade Marionberry pies that disappeared very fast. Suzan's spinach
salad was a hit and Della's zucchini bread pudding tasted divine. We had grilled sausages by
Joan, wonderful cheesecake, a lovely quiche, almond cookies, fruit salad, brownies, cheese
balls, and muffins. Garden Club members proved once again that their talents extend far beyond their gardens.
