On July 8th, SPGC traveled to Forks to see the “Viola”, a large canoe hand carved by a member of the Hoh
Tribe, installed at the University of Washington’s Olympic National Resources Center. The canoe was
housed in Pioneer Memorial Park since the 1960’s until our historian, Priscilla Hudson, located the
rightful owner. We joined with members of the Hoh, Quileute and S’Klallam Tribes as well as the Bogachiel
Garden Club in the ceremony.
